Are you a carnivore? Do you enjoy live entertainment including singers and Brazillian dancers? Are you looking for an al fresco dining by a pool with a view of the Burj Khalifa? Cabana ticks all those boxes.
Cabana, the pool side restaurant and bar inside The Address Dubai Mall hosts a Brazillian Churrasco evening every Thursday evening. Think unlimited grilled meats served at your table side, unlimited sides and desserts from quite a decent selection and not to mention unlimited drinks.
There’s ample staff on site but once you flip your coin to green you might struggle to keep up with the flow of food. Juicy skewers of meat arrive at your table with your waiter kindly asking if you’d like to sample and explaining what each cut is. You grab the tiny tongs and hold on while the live carving happens at your table.
Highlights include the garlic picanha, the lamb chops and my favorite – the grilled pineapple with cinnamon which actually helps to aid digestion as well with all the meat you consume! #funfact
If you wanted to start or finish off with cheese & wine you could also with 4 types of imported European cheeses.
There’s ample cold starters and some hot sides as well, including rice, creamed corn and fried bananas. Each table is dressed with 3 dipping sauces for the meats, including a flavorsome green chimichurri. Not that they were even needed. The way the meats are cooked on the skewers, they are all so juicy even though they have the charred grill marks. Perfecto!
There’s also plenty of desserts to choose from fresh fruit to individual puddings and Brazillian delicacies brigadeiros – chocolate fudge balls rolled in chocolate sprinkles. A must try! The house wine included a white wine chardonnay as well as a medium bodied drop of cabernet merlot, which went down a little too easily. The waiters are generous at filling your glass and refills do not need to be asked for.
There are plenty of staff on duty as well as the restaurant manager who does the rounds of checking on all the guests. A nice touch. We were enjoying ourselves so much we even got up for a dance (and a photo) with the Brazillian dancers.
In conclusion the Churrasco evening at Cabana is a lovely place to chill after a long week at work and just sit back and have a relaxing dinner and perhaps enjoy some shisha afterwards.
The restaurant closes up around 11:30pm, however you can continue to drink or smoke shisha until 1am.
I’ve yet to find a restaurant inside an Address Hotel which doesn’t provide quality food and service. 5 star all the way.
